Random Stuff

Just a little this and that for the moment – I’ll probably come up with something a little more thought inducing later.

1) I’m entering the Golden Heart contest this year. Debated on it for a bit, and then figured why not? I have a MS ready to go, might as well toss my hat in the ring for the Cthulhu of unpubbed romance contests. I don’t expect to final since it’s not real “romancy” to start with, but I suppose you never know unless you try. (And now I’ve got an excuse to crank through revising my synopsis).

2) I won a pitch to Becca Stumpf from the raffle over at FF&P yesterday. I get 10 minutes in a chat room to pitch my book, and I need 3 sentences to start with. Something high level, I suppose. I usually quip about using a few lines from the story directly, but I should probably come up with more of an elevator pitch just to be on the safe side.

I had a naked incubus in my bedroom. With a frying pan of half-cooked bacon and a hard-on. And a unicorn bite on his ass. Christ, but this was turning out to be a weird morning.

Charming, but probably won’t work.  Ah well.

3) I got my winner’s plaque from the CRW Heart of the Rockies Contest yesterday. Kinda cool, actually.

4) My ShadowScapes Tarot book came in.  It is *SOOOOO* pretty.  I paid a little extra for a custom sketch on the inside of the jacket. (Artist choice, of course).

I’m totally grooving on the magician card for a number of reasons.

I always love looking at the reasons behind why a tarot artist draws what he/she does. Although the cards themselves will reveal their message, getting into the story behind the symbolism can really open up a lot of doorways. I can’t wait until the cards get released in February. 🙂
