I’m in the final bits of this round of revisions. It’s a heady feeling. Partially because I’m almost done. Partially because I’m not entirely sure how it ends. Which probably sounds a bit odd. I’ve got a fair idea of what’s going to happen, based on the other changes I’ve made, but I think I’m just going to have to see what the characters do when I get there.
In other news, I was hit over the head and asked if I might like to present the PRISM awards for the FF&P Gathering at National this year. Which sounds more grand than it is. Not that the awards aren’t awesome, because they are. Just that I only got asked because the contest coordinators can’t make it this year, and seeing as I’m the web person for FF&P (and therefore spent some time coding the site for the contest), they thought I might like to do it. Which is pretty cool, though writers can be a pretty introverted bunch – I’m not sure there was a huge line of people begging to take the job.
And I am going to do it. I don’t think I’m a particularly great public speaker, but I figure I ought to be able to read nominees and winners off a card without too much trouble. Plus, I had already ordered this killer SteamPunk costume to wear for the party, so I might as well flaunt it a bit. Not that I want to MC the entire event, though – I’m probably too much of a wimp to do that, though I suppose we’ll have to see. We’re still in the process of trying to find a new venue so I’m not sure what we’ll actually have by way of entertainment or food.
Guess we’ll see how it goes. 🙂
