The problem with going on vacations is that they end.
For what it’s worth, we had a fabulous few days – I barely touched my laptop and I kept my online interactions to a minimum. Not that I don’t like sharing all my fun, but I’m online too much as it is and I didn’t want any distractions, so there you go. Most nights I tottered into bed around 11 or 11:30 and slept in until 8 or 9, so it was definitely a healthier sleep schedule than what I normally get.
The offshoot of having all that fun is that I’m not sure I’m all that much more rested physically (thanks to the stupid back – and yes, I kept my roller coasters down to a minimum – only did 3 the whole trip) – but mentally I’m itching to get back to my creative endeavors – lots of inspiration to pull from, anyway. (Nothing like massive exposure to Disney to bring out some of that old-school wonder at the tropes that really do work so well.)
I’ve got a lot of additional tasks that I need to get to, some of which I’ve been pushing off until after vacation. Not sure why – none of it is terribly taxing, but I guess I had that short-timer mentality. In theory I should be able to focus on the stuff better. In theory. >_< (It’s also sometimes harder to get back up to speed after so many days off. The lizard brain is muttering something about warcraft, thanks.)
And then there’s the diet. Which was completely and utterly blown to the 7th level of hell this week. (Giant Mickey Mouse rice-krispy treat? YES, PLEASE. Chocolate Frogs? Bacon, bacon, bacon, nachos, churros, popcorn. Butterbeer. Shepard’s Pie. Meatball sliders. Red velvet cupcakes. Mac & Cheese…the list goes on and on. I ate like a queen, but I *really* need to get back on that bandwagon. (And I certainly walked a lot too, so it wasn’t like I was just laying around eating, but I shudder to think about my daily caloric intake.)
Anyway. Should be a new Fox & Willow up at some point today, but otherwise, it’s nice to be home and back in my own bed. 🙂
