Just wanted to shout out to my girls out there in Germany who did a fantastic job of getting me the new album by Marcus Wolf (And had him sign it to me, no less!) 🙂 Marcus is a guitarist who has been touring with David Garrett the last few years. (And having seen him perform several times live, I can definitely say the man has pretty awesome guitar chops.) You can buy his album off of iTunes and a number of other places, but if you want the song of him and DG playing “Little Wing”, you have get the physical copy (hence my German connections, since the CD is only being sold at DG shows in Germany, at the moment.) Even cooler, though? This awesomesauce and totally unexpected signed photo of the band. 🙂 So…Moni, Inken, and Steffi? Massive *hugs* from this chica in the States! Mwah! =3…

The Lines of Love

I was thinking back along some of my favorite movies and books last night, specifically to try to find one of those defining moments/scenes/lines that just *makes* that story a part of me. It might be hard to define, but you know what I mean. It’s that little bit that you always make a point of watching when you’re flipping the channels on the TV or the dog-eared passage of a book that you read whenever you’re having a shitty day. Whatever it is, it resonates deeply.(And the same could be said of a piece of music – what refrain or musical bridge takes root in you?) I’ve seen it said somewhere that dialogue in books is never really all that realistic because it would be terribly boring if it were. That’s probably true to some degree. As authors we straddle that line between keeping things interesting without going over…

I don’t know who this guy is, but he is awesome. In fact, I may just need to write him into my sequel as a cameo. Bonus points for the sword *and* the violin case. Scottish Mobster Faery, indeed.…

Mini NYC ReCap

So obviously I got to hang out in NYC for the weekend (partially for my 10 year anniversary with mr myn – yay – and partially for writing stuff.) So…here’s a mini recap of what we did. 1) Bolt Bus from Philly to NY – only $11 a person and 2 hours…very hard to beat. Bus had Wi-Fi and I was easily able to finish up the last of my first-pass-pages, so excellent resource. 2) Library Hotel – cute little boutique hotel, not too far away from Times Square. Had a tiny rooftop bar on the 14th floor along with a greenhouse and a reading room. Which is where we hung out for a bit after we checked in. (Along with a very taste cheese and fruit plate and wine.) 3) Basso56 – Killer hole-in-the-wall Italian food for dinner. Not cheap but not super expensive, and a lot of bang…
