Scripting
Took a little break from blog posts last night. Might not have been the wisest thing, but honestly I was itching to do some scripting for Fox & Willow and I don’t like fighting the muse when she decides to kick in. And since Aimo and I check in a weekly basis to discuss the overall progress, I like to actually have something to show her. 🙂 I’m trying a slightly different mechanism for this chapter. First chapter is called “Came a Harper” and has a lot of setup going on, but because I was still getting my brain wrapped around the idea of scripting (and it’s nothing I’ve ever done before), I started out writing it more like a short story and then going back and highlighting the bits that would go into the comic portion.  (And a lot of that is at Aimo’s discretion anyway – we discuss…

Okay – I’m all over the place today – guest posts and giveaways and all that fun stuff. I’ll be updating the links in this post as things come up, but I wanted to give a massive shout out to all my fabulous friends and family (and fans!) who have been tweeting and Facebooking and everything else today. You guys are how books get sold and the reason I write and I can’t thank you all enough. (And major props go to Aimo for the awesomesauce gif up there. A complete surprise and so brilliant. I just can’t stop laughing at it.) Also – I have this lovely piece of art from Jakface – Hipster Talivar doing the Hustle. Because that’s what he does. Sometimes. (And you can read that particular scene over at Wicked Little Pixie today!) Okay, links and places…. 1) I’ve got a release day part over…

Huzzah
No, I don’t know what’s going on in this gif here, but I find it oddly compelling. Understand that I’m feeling a tad gleeful at finally getting some back end code for the Sad Sausage Dogs tester site to work. It’s the small things, really – and I haven’t done any real web design/coding on a regular basis in quite a while, but I was up until about 2 last night working on it. And the problem is, I couldn’t get part of it working, and even though I was so tired I was staring at the code cross-eyed, my brain wouldn’t shut down. So I go to bed and all I’m seeing is potential hacks and workarounds and things to try. On one level, I sorta dig it – it’s like a puzzle and if I just keep moving the pieces around, sooner or later I’ll make it fit.…

Sad Sausage Dogs
So I’ve been hinting off and on for a few months about doing some extra projects on the side (aside from the writing), and here’s the skinny. As a for-fun collab project, Â I’m writing a web comic series with Aimo. (We’re looking at an online pub date of Spring 2012.) I’m doing this for a number of reasons – as I’ve stated before, I’ve always wanted to try my hand at this, and as a fan of comics and graphics novels in general, I’ve definitely got some stories in mind that I feel would translate really well to this particular medium. (And frankly, Aimo agreeing to collab with me is a bit of a pipe-dream come true. I adore her artistic style, so I’m very excited to see what we can create together.) As far as storyline goes, it’s going to be an original piece, not set in any of…
