Pulling the Trigger
In a manner of speaking. But yes, I’m going to go ahead and merge this site with my Blogger site and then solely blog from here. I’ll keep the Blogger site up for archiving purposes and because I’ve got a ton of things linked to it and feeds and all the rest of it (though I’m going to try to retire it as gracefully as I can.) I will be importing the majority of that site into this one – it’s going to be a bit kludgy, I suspect and there will probably be some double posts (simply because I have done some cross-posting to both.) Just bear with me while I mess with it over the next while or so. But basically, it’s just getting too difficult to run both sites, and my official site tends to miss out on a lot of things simply because I’m not maintaining…

Scripting
Took a little break from blog posts last night. Might not have been the wisest thing, but honestly I was itching to do some scripting for Fox & Willow and I don’t like fighting the muse when she decides to kick in. And since Aimo and I check in a weekly basis to discuss the overall progress, I like to actually have something to show her. 🙂 I’m trying a slightly different mechanism for this chapter. First chapter is called “Came a Harper” and has a lot of setup going on, but because I was still getting my brain wrapped around the idea of scripting (and it’s nothing I’ve ever done before), I started out writing it more like a short story and then going back and highlighting the bits that would go into the comic portion.  (And a lot of that is at Aimo’s discretion anyway – we discuss…

…so to speak. Obviously I haven’t been blogging for a few days. It’s the fun of the family and holiday thing, I guess. That and continuing to work on my quick and dirty revisions for A Trace of Moonlight before I hand the draft into the editor next week. Incidentally, A Trace of Moonlight is the official title now. (It’s what the end of SoS lists as the snippet for the next book, so I’ll run with that assumption, anyway.) (And like everything else I write, my standard MO applies. I come and go in waves both as I write and edit, wavering between, “wow, this is actually pretty good” to “Jesus, this is the worst piece of crap to ever come off the keyboard.” However, I’m about halfway through here, and so far I’m actually feeling okay about it. Doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement – there’s always…

Done With Drafting
So to speak. But yes, I finished the rough draft of A Trace of Moonlight at about 2 AM this morning. Odd really, because I’ve been fighting the story so much the last few weeks and last night it was like my head just snapped because it was TIME. Sat down and cranked out 3000k in about 2 hours, which is ridiculous for me. Is it the best prose I’ve ever written? Nope. There is quite a bit of revising to do, and not much time to do it in, but I suppose that’s always par for the course with me. I am going to give myself a day off, though. Too much to get done with Christmas coming anyway, and by the gods I am going to fire up some sort of game and play guilt free tonight if it kills me. In some ways, getting the words on…
