Catching Up

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , | 3 Comments
The problem with going away on vacation…is coming back from vacation. And it’s not even that I have all the business type things to do – the emails, the website updates, the grocery shopping, etc. It’s having to come back to reality.  There was something really nice about the basic routine this time around, which essentially was nothing more than getting up early, eating whatever, maybe going for a walk on the beach or wherever, doing nothing until about 2 PM and then heading to the beach until 5 or 6, showering, dinner, drinking (at least as far as the rest of the family went) and maybe another beach walk. Which sounds fairly simplistic, but I was in desperate need of simple. And that’s not to say my “do nothing time” was actually spent doing nothing. It’s more that it was spent NOT working. In fact, I could break down… Read more

Word Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | Leave a comment
Just a quick update post here – I’m nicely entrenched in my copy edits for  A Trace of Moonlight and should have those back to the editor next week. It’s getting rather surreal, honestly – I’m almost done. After the first-pass-pages, that’s it. My contract will be over and then it’s on to trying to sell the next big thing. Whatever that is. Guess I’ll find out, eh? In the meantime – this week is all about self-publishing over at Word Whores, so I’ve got a few things to mention there today, but definitely check out some of the other posts – there’s some really great information about it and it’s worth seeing the experiences of other writers. And of course, Fox & Willow has an update, so definitely check that out as well. 🙂… Read more

Word Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | Leave a comment
Usual updates at the usual places today – first up over at Word Whores talking a little about regrets and the ones that got away. Missed opportunities and wasted time. I feel like I missed the boat with it a little – I probably should have written one of those “10 Things I Would Tell My Teenage Self” things, but maybe next time around. Otherwise, there’s a new page of Fox & Willow up! (Yay, the plot begins to thicken…so to speak. 😉 ) Elbow-wise – new drugs seem to be working nicely and without the nasty side effects of the other ones. Swelling is down (or moving, I’m not sure which), but I  can actually extend my arm all the way out now, and that is a HUGE improvement from Tuesday. I’ll take it. 🙂  … Read more

Hmmmph.

Incidentally, I know I’ve been rather quiet the last few days on the whole social networking front, but I’m battling a nasty staph infection in my elbow (which is about double its normal size.) It’s painful and swollen and the first set of antibiotics and I didn’t get along too well so I keep having to switch meds. Which is bad enough, but I’m also stuck trying to fight with the insurance company about the drugs they don’t want to pay for. So, yeah. That’s about where I’m at.  Hopefully back to normal soon!… Read more

Monday Updates

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | 1 Comment
Post Mother’s Day Monday? IDK. For a fairly uneventful weekend, I spent an awful lot of time putting Avenger Lego sets together.  I’m not actually complaining, mind. I love building Legos, and my inner nerd quivers at all these lovely little characters. Lego Loki? Mmmph. But low-key days are good and it’s been a while since I’ve just let a day slip by without fussing at myself to get anything specific done. Paying for that a little bit now, but that’s okay.  The contractor came today and the good news it that after gutting the shower it looks as though there’s no structural damage behind the wall like we feared. We’re waiting on an estimate to rebuild/retile everything, though we may just go ahead and do it ourselves if the cost ends up being too high. (I’m sorta leaning toward letting the contractor do it this time around, just for the… Read more
