Back From the Brink

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , | Leave a comment
…so to speak. Obviously I haven’t been blogging for a few days. It’s the fun of the family and holiday thing, I guess. That and continuing to work on my quick and dirty revisions for A Trace of Moonlight before I hand the draft into the editor next week. Incidentally, A Trace of Moonlight is the official title now. (It’s what the end of SoS lists as the snippet for the next book, so I’ll run with that assumption, anyway.) (And like everything else I write, my standard MO applies. I come and go in waves both as I write and edit, wavering between, “wow, this is actually pretty good” to “Jesus, this is the worst piece of crap to ever come off the keyboard.” However, I’m about halfway through here, and so far I’m actually feeling okay about it. Doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement – there’s always… Read more

Mini Pre-Turkey Day Updates

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , , | 1 Comment
Just a little post today to wish everyone safe travels and a Happy Thanksgiving. (I probably won’t be blogging for a few days – everyone needs a break, right?) But a few small things of note: 1) A Brush of Darkness was listed as one of Vampire Book Club’s Best Books of 2011 – go check it out and leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of it (or one of the other fab books listed. ) 2) All Things Urban Fantasy gives the cover for A Sliver of Shadow two thumbs up. Huzzah! 3) A lovely review of BoD over on Literary Escapism today as well.. I’ve got some swag ordered for SoS – I should have bookmarks and stickers sometime next week, and Darchala is hard at work on the next set of character trading cards, so hopefully those should be done soon. Also –… Read more

Monday Morning Updates

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | 2 Comments
Such as they are. Quick note to say I’m guest blogging over at PJ Schnyder’s author site today to talk a bit about NaNoWriMo. (Ironic since I’m not participating this year, but I *have* won in past years, so I know the scoop.) Also, even though I’m still waiting on the cover, I’ve gone ahead and thrown up a page about A Sliver of Shadow, so if you’re interested in finding out a little more about that, you can see it here. (Once I get permission, I’ll put up a full chapter excerpt.) All the galleys for A Sliver of Shadow are now out, but if you didn’t get one, please drop me an email and I’ll send your information to my publicist and she’ll put you on the list. If we get any rotated back in, we’ll send them out.… Read more

Updates and Cover Flats

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , , | 4 Comments
It’s actually been a little while since I’ve had time to make an update post, so here we go. First off, even though the cover to A Sliver of Shadow hasn’t officially been released, I’ve got a little sneak peek here. (And I can start giving them away, so yay!) I’m hoping to get a large copy up here soon, as well as a first chapter excerpt and related information. Only a few more months to go before the release date, so I’m getting very excited about it. All edits have been completed and turned in and I’m just plugging away at the third BoD book (still sans title, but that will come.) Otherwise – there are several contests and giveaways going on in the blogosphere that I’m going to list here (most of which include a copy of A Brush of Darkness as part of the prize(s). Jaye Wells… Read more

Updates and Ramblings

Just a little note to mention that I’m going to be at the Baltimore Book Festival on September 24 (the Saturday). I’m still working on the details of my schedule since I’m there as part of the SFWA and the Maryland RWA chapter and I’m trying to make sure I don’t get double booked. I’ll be on at least one panel and I’m doing a reading for sure, but I’ll post the times when I know everything. Otherwise, I’m taking a little break from the blogosphere this upcoming weekend (I’ll throw up the man candy tomorrow night, though.) Partially because it’s a 3 day weekend and partially because I’m going to be fairly focused on the copy edits for A Sliver of Shadow. They’re electronic this time around, so it will be a little different. I might just print it out anyway. There’s something about having a hard copy to… Read more
