Word Whore Thursday: Assimilation

Posted in blog | Tagged , , , | Leave a comment
I’m over at Word-Whores today, chatting a little bit about what it means to be a geek today vs the the past. Otherwise, there’s not much new going on except yay for cleaning the house. Not quite done, but it’s getting there in little bits and pieces. I’m enjoying my week of non-writing overall (except for some little bits here and there), but I’ll be getting back on the horse next week as the outline for BoD3 was approved yesterday. I’ve got about 20k or so already written on it, but the edits for SoS were sorta sucking up all my time. Besides, I wanted to make sure it was a go before I got too much further into it – it’s a bit heartbreaking to realize that I might have to undo all of that if the publisher decides they want changes. And the Legacy DLC for DA2? Mmmmm….so very,… Read more

Lining Up My Ducks

Posted in blog | Tagged | 2 Comments
Okay, just as an FYI – the next few weeks are going to be a bit of a mess. I’m going to be completely offline for at least one week (and that includes phone as well – no signal where I’m going.)  And yeah, it always takes me three days or so before I stop feeling like a wolf stuck in a trap trying to gnaw its own foot off. Sad, I know. Internet addiction. I haz it. I may pre-load my unofficial blog  with man candy off and on, but that sorta depends on how busy I get tomorrow with packing. (And last minute shopping. And getting my nails done. Whee.)  I if I’m not responding to emails or tweets or what have you, that’s why. (And I owe people emails  – I’m trying to get through those as fast as I can before I leave.) As soon as I… Read more

Tales From the Tissue Trenches

I’d like to say that sometimes being sick allows me to slow down and reconfigure my priorities, but at this point today the only thing I’m really contemplating is whether I should get up from my latest nap or just turn right around and go back to sleep. The only good thing about getting this sick is that I do actually give myself permission to let go of things. (If I’m on the fence, it generally means I can probably get something done. If I’m like I am today, I don’t have much choice, really. How do I know this? If I can’t even get the energy up to play WoW, I’m sick. Period.) *ahem* Before the sick-fest, I did manage to get some revision stuff done on Saturday – I went through about 150 pages or so. And for the first run through of revisions, I’m not actually doing any editing… Read more

Word Whore Thursday

Posted in blog | Tagged , | Leave a comment
I’m over at Word-Whores today, where the theme this week is unusual pets. (So of course, I’m focusing on the hedgehog.) Otherwise things are holding at a steady state, although I’ve got a few things behind the scenes that I’m really hoping for (more about that if/when it does happen.) I am also fleshing out some odds and ends in the hopes that a Melanie story will make an appearance in a possible upcoming anthology. Also, I’ve finally ordered bookplates. If all goes well, I should have them by next week, and I’ll be happy to send them out  for a SASE.… Read more

Word Whore Thursday: The Methods to My Madness

Posted in blog | Tagged , , | Leave a comment
I’m over at Word Whores today talking a little bit about my writing process – the whole pantster vs plotter argument, though I’m not really sure I have much of a method these days. (Aside from “Get the damn book written.” but that probably goes without saying…) Also, Pocket After Dark is running a contest to win seven signed books (including Brush of Darkness). All you have to do is comment about which cross-over you’d like to see between your favorite characters from whatever series you like. Anyone up for an Abby and Bones pairing? LOL In other bits of random news, I do have tentative release dates for the sequels to Brush of Darkness – which will be March 2012 and October 2012, respectively. No titles or anything yet, but I’ll obviously post more more when I know it. (And yes, I have to get an FAQ up on… Read more
