A little site update here. A few months ago I had mentioned that I was probably going to look at moving the RSS feeds from Feedburner to Feedblitz. I started that process last night (and I’m doing the same for all my other sites as well.) So bear with me if you are a subscriber and you get duplicates for a day or so – hopefully not. >_< I’m giving a mega shout-out to Phil over at Feedblitz for 1) having perfect directions set up and 2) helping me to troubleshoot when I had some issues. I think this is going to be a great product and I’m very appreciative at having such great response time. Anyway, I’ve got some redirections in place, but should you wish to move over on your own power, this is the new RSS feed URL: https://feeds.feedblitz.com/HeartoftheDreaming Mail subscribers should have been moved over to the…

io9 Review
So the big news is that io9 reviewed Fox & Willow on Saturday – which is fabulous for us. As a self-published webcomic, getting any sort of publicity like this is sometimes very hard to come by. (And a special shout-out to Jane Kindred for helping us to get on their radar -thank you so much.) Of course, the offshoot is that I used up my 100k pageview /per month limit on my stat tracker in about 24 hours. (That’s a *lot* of hits for us – and it’s been fun to watch the link be spread out to other sites like the Something Awful forums. Not quite viral or anything, but considering we haven’t been doing a huge amount for publicity, it’s pretty cool.) Not sure what I’ll do about the webstats – to upgrade my account will bump me into the $80 a month range, and if this…

Word-Whore ~ Fox and Willow Thursday
It’s been one of those surreal sorts of weeks where everything has devolved into utter chaos. So I’m going to whine. Lucky you. Lucy’s hacking away at night with this lousy cough making sleep hard to come by. Connor took a digger playing basketball and torqued his knee. (I’m just waiting for the phone call from school telling me to come get him – I did the ice and ibuprofen thing this morning, but it was pretty stiff. I kinda doubt he’ll be playing in his game tonight, which sucks – but we’ll still go and support the team.) And my joints just hurt all over today for no apparent reason. (Though I did somehow manage to crack a knuckle and maybe mess up a ligament in my hand. Burns like hell every time I try to twist open something. Meh. Body is falling apart. And I know I’m stressing…

Shift Change
Things have been a bit more hectic around here than usual – aside from the usual settling back in after vacation last week, Lucy was sick over the weekend (followed by me, naturally). But it’s been complicated by the fact that I’ve taken a new position at work. It will take me a little while to figure out what I’m doing, but I’m rather excited about getting the chance to do something new. Today was a bit of a mess since I had to move cubes – having to cull several years of crap is both inspiring and depressing. I’m in the new cube now, but most of my stuff is still in boxes. Not sure I have the energy to put everything back up just yet. The basics are in place, though – so it’s just a question of getting used to working with a new team in a…

Back to the Grind
The problem with going on vacations is that they end. For what it’s worth, we had a fabulous few days – I barely touched my laptop and I kept my online interactions to a minimum. Not that I don’t like sharing all my fun, but I’m online too much as it is and I didn’t want any distractions, so there you go. Most nights I tottered into bed around 11 or 11:30 and slept in until 8 or 9, so it was definitely a healthier sleep schedule than what I normally get. The offshoot of having all that fun is that I’m not sure I’m all that much more rested physically (thanks to the stupid back – and yes, I kept my roller coasters down to a minimum – only did 3 the whole trip) – but mentally I’m itching to get back to my creative endeavors – lots of inspiration…
