What Comes Easiest
First up, just wanted to mention that I’m being interviewed over at Red Hot Books today as part of the AAD Spotlight series. If you’re interested in learning a little more about Brystion’s motivations, I suggest you check it out. (I don’t talk about him much usually, so it’s a nice change.) Anyway, the main point to this post was just something I observed at the grocery store the other day. I’m trying to lose a few pounds, so I’m trying to watch what I eat a little closer. (Although I have to admit many days have been a rather large fail on that part when it comes to the revisions – I can’t help it – it’s stress, pure and simple.) Anyway, I keep noticing how so many food packages announce 100 calorie versions of their snacks. Which I guess is nice in theory – 100 calories doesn’t sound…

You Deserve a Drink
Did I say I was going to stay offline? Yeah, I guess I did. Guess I lied. But I have taken a few amusing breaks here and there (between using Freedom, which is very helpful, btw.) At the moment I’m a bit mentally frazzled, because it’s taken me nearly the entire day to rewrite most of a chapter (one of those things where one small change ended up changing a ton of other things. It’s a bit of a domino effect. *sigh*) And even though I don’t really drink, I sorta feel like I deserve one. WTFkery of the Mind Boggling Kind.
You know, I’m not fond of jumping on the bandwagon of internet trending. (Which I’ve mentioned before). But last night it was brought to my attention that a fellow author was “outed” by someone in her community. And frankly, I find it just bizarre beyond belief that this is getting the attention that it is. The woman is a high school English teacher by day…and an erotica novelist by night. So what? She’s been teaching for over 25 years, without incident. Clearly her writing has not been an issue in getting the job done. She had a pen name and a PO Box, so obviously she was keeping the two things separate (and with good reason, as we can see.) With all the things going on in the world today that are so much more important, how can people get their self-righteous panties bunched up so easily? I can understand…

Unicorn WTFkery
I’m over at the League of Reluctant Adults today discussing unicorn wtfkery. Specifically a quick dabble in unicorn erotica/ pr0n, but only because I didn’t want to write about Valentine’s Day. Plus, in my research to find out just how much pervy unicorn stuff is out there, I discovered a few disturbing bits of literature (which I talk about in the blog post). I also ran across this really odd set of paper mache figures in an odd set of positions. With furries. Please note it’s NSFW, so view at your own risk. Needless to say, it’s quite clear that my pervy unicorn Phin has a rather large set of hooves to step into, and not one I’m going to be jumping to have him fill any time soon. A Day in the Life of Phin
A special treat for all you Phineas fans out there – he’s over at Bibliophilic Book Blog with a little post about what an average day for him is like. (And oddly enough, he seems to be showing up to answer comments!) Go check it out. 🙂 Incidentally, I’m actually looking at what it would take to maybe get a Team Phin shirt made up.
